Settembre 1944. Rachel Stein, giovane cantante di varietà, fugge in Olanda dalla Germania nazista. Nei territori liberati ritrova la sua famiglia per perderla subito dopo in un'imboscata tedesca. Incaricata di sedurre l'ufficiale Müntze, finisce per innamorarsene........

Israel 1956. Rachel, a Jew, rather unexpectedly meets an old friend at the kibbutz where she is working as a teacher. It brings back memories of her experiences in The Netherlands during the war, memories of betrayal. September 1944. Rachel is in trouble when her hiding place is bombed by allied troops. She gets in contact with a man from the resistance and joins a group of Jews who are to be smuggled across the Biesbosch by boat to the freed South Netherlands.....................

Tre bambini costringono un loro compagno di classe a una prova di coraggio per entrare a far parte del loro gruppo: dovrà portare via un teschio da una chiesa abbandonata. Inaspettatamente il bambino viene inghiottito da una voragine che si apre sul pavimento. I tre ragazzi rimasti fuori accorrono ma non sanno cosa fare, chiamano l'amico senza ottenere alcuna risposta. Non ottenendo risposta temono il peggio. Andarsene sembra essere l'unica soluzione onde evitare guai, ma non sanno che la sorellina di uno di loro li ha seguiti. La bambina irrompe nella chiesa e interviene temeraria e coraggiosa. Si cala nella voragine appesa a una corda di fortuna, ma quando la panca a cui era legata cede sotto il suo peso, trascina con sé anche gli altri bambini. Ritrovano il loro compagno ma si rendono conto di non poter più tornare indietro. Insieme dovranno cercare una via d'uscita. Dopo numerose peripezie, arrivati allo stremo delle forze, saranno aiutati da Grotto, una buffa creatura simile a una stalagmite e con due enormi occhi azzurri che abita nelle grotte e che si esprime solo con suoni gutturali.

Tom Brand è un miliardario di grande successo ma il suo stile di vita lo ha allontanato totalmente da sua moglie Lara e da sua figlia Rebecca. Intento a recuperare il rapporto con la figlia, Tom decide di regalarle per il suo compleanno il gattino che desidera da molto tempo. Sulla strada verso casa, Tom è coinvolto in un terribile incidente e quando riprende conoscenza scopre di essere intrappolato nel corpo del gatto appena acquistato.
